Minnie Mae Watkins Gann of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on December 3, 2006 at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born in Adair County in the Bell Community on December 8, 1921 to Lillie Gardenhire Watkins and Harley Watkins.
Minnie married Woodrow Wilson Gann on January 6, 1942 at Sallisaw, Oklahoma. To this union two daughters were born, Marie Gann Carte and Wenona Gann Studards.
Minnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 1/2 years, Woodrow, both of her parents, three sisters and two brothers: Elizabeth Baie, Oma Siegman, Dona Bell Green, Waco Watkins, Dallas Watkins and her loved son-in-law Terry Studards.
Minnie is survived by her two daughters, Marie Carte of Edmond, Oklahoma and Wenona Studards of Siloam Springs, her son-in-law, Ron Carte of Edmond, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Minnie is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Mertie Day and husband Phil of Byron, California, Ruby Merriott of Galt, California and Emmitt Watkins of Bloit, Wisconsin; and four sisters-in-law, Margie Watkins and Allene Watkins both of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Billie Gritts and Joanna Christian both of Hominy, Oklahoma. Minnie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends with many good memories.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 8, 2006, at First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs, Arkansas with Dr. Steve Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Arkansas under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
