J. D. Gamble was born on November 27, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William Earl and Hilda Marie Chrispens Gamble and passed from this life on February 10, 2016 in Plano, Texas at the age of 79.
J. D. married the love of his life, Donna Bressman on January 15, 1955 and they were blessed with a daughter, Barbara.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962 and was honorably discharged.
J. D. attended Oklahoma University and received his Bachelor's Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He worked as a pharmaceutical rep for many years and the United States Post Office delivering mail until his retirement.
He loved music and played the steel guitar for two local bands, Too Long in the Saddle and Wayfaring Strangers.
He was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Bokchito and he enjoyed water skiing, camping, fishing and wood working in his younger days, but his greatest joy came watching his great grandsons play ball.
J. D. is survived by his loving and sweet wife, Donna Gamble of the home; daughter, Barbara Lilley and husband Frank of Bokchito; grandchildren, Jason Lilley and wife Patricia of Durant and Misty Bearden and husband Charlie of Caddo; great grandsons, Marvin Littrell, Peyton Bearden and Parker Bearden; sisters, Genie Cavender and Earlene Fishburn and other extended family and many dear friends.
Services to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
