Donald Gamble

April 13, 1917 ~ August 19, 2004

Funeral services for Donald Gamble, 87, formerly of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at the Church of Christ, Broken Arrow, Okla.

Donald Gamble died on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, in Broken Arrow.

Services are under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home of Broken Arrow.

Donald Gamble

Memorial Services for Donald Gamble were scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2004, at Broken Arrow Church of Christ. Bill Keele officiated. Services were under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

Donald Gamble was born April 13, 1917, at Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Felix and Grace (Alton) Gamble. Donald died Thursday, August 19, 2004, at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was 87 years of age.

Don was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force, serving in WWII as a B-17 Pilot with the 303rd Bomb Group stationed in England and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel. He majored in chemical engineering at the University of Oklahoma. He was married to Margaret Faye Abbott on April 8, 1974, at Natchez, Mississippi. He had insurance agencies in Chickasha, OK, and Flagstaff, AZ., and lived in Leadville, Colorado, for 23 years prior to moving to Broken Arrow in 2003. Don's mission in life was to make people happy. He will be greatly missed by all. He was an active member of the Leadville Church of Christ and the Lions Club.

He is survived by wife, Margaret Gamble, Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Lanna Law, Halifax, CA; sons, Bradley Don Gamble, W. Covina, CA, and Mike Gamble, Colorado Springs, CO; Linda, Paul and David Gamble, Oklahoma City, OK; stepdaughter, Debbie Hopwood, Mesa, AZ; stepson, Mike Martin, Tulsa, OK; brothers, Alton Gamble, Visalia, CA, Leslie Gamble, Auburndale, FL; sister, Rozella Bozarth, Tulsa, OK; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents and brother, Harold, and sister, Patsy Ruth.
