Funeral services to honor the life of JoAnn Gage will be held on Tuesday, July 28 at 2pm in the Minnie Hartwell Memorial Chapel at Tishomingo Funeral Home with Reverend Roy Fountain officiating.
JoAnn was born on September 7, 1946 in Healdton, OK to the late Winnie Cunningham. JoAnn went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and 19 days.
JoAnn grew up in the Wilson area where she attended & graduated high school. She later moved to Ardmore where she met & married Robert "Bob" Gage on February 11, 1993. Bob preceded her in death on December 18, 2004. JoAnn worked as a housekeeper for many years at the Comfort Inn before going to work at The Suites at Elmbrook where she later retired. After her retirement she assisted in taking care of Lois Clabaugh and her sister Jerri Toty for several years. JoAnn enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles, and jig saw puzzles. She also enjoyed going to garage sales with her family. In her younger years when she was able, she enjoyed traveling. JoAnn was of the Baptist Faith.
JoAnn leaves behind to forever cherish her memory: Son: Quintin Nipp of Wilson, OK; Granddaughter that she raised as her daughter: Andrea Hartwell & husband Justin of Mannsville, OK; Sisters: Evelyn "Lean" Morse of Duncan, OK, Pearlie Buss of Hobbs, NM; Special Niece: Sherri Watkins & husband Richard of Elk City, OK; Grandchildren: Andrew Nipp of Davis, OK; Cheyenne Nipp of Wilson, OK; Chelsey Nipp of Wilson, OK; Cassidy Nipp of Wilson, OK; Great-Granddaughter: Hannah Skelton of Wilson, OK
JoAnn was preceded in death by: Mother: Winnie Cunningham; Husband: Robert "Bob" Gage; Son: Andy Nipp; Brothers: Joe Ed Cunningham, Doug Cunningham; Sister: Mildred "Mil" Hooper
At JoAnn's request the family has chosen cremation to follow the service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Services are under the direction & care of Tishomingo Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at tishomingofuneralhome.com
