Helena - Imogene Gage began her journey on earth April 26, 1947, when she was born to her loving parents, Eugene and Daisy Smith. Her journey ended on August 28, 2023, as she left earth to begin her next adventure. She passed peacefully at home and was surrounded by family.
As an only child, she was a mischievous adventurist who was a feisty handful who constantly got into trouble throughout her childhood. Imogene had a tremendous love for animals of all kinds and took on many pets.
Imogene was a teenager when her parents divorced but she was fortunate to gain the love and companionship of several step siblings and an extended family. She gained a second dad, William Watson, and even gained a “little” sister, Mayble. Even though they were several years difference in age they became best friends and tormented each other as siblings do.
Imogene married her devoted and loving husband, Edward Gage, on October 13, 1966, and they spent 56 wonderful years together. She had an unconditional love for her daughter, Kimberly Denise, and her son, Gerry Ray. She said that having children was her greatest accomplishment in life.
Imogene was a sweet, kind, and gentle person with a fun-loving nature who often put other people’s needs before her own. She would not hesitate to help a friend, family member, or a total stranger in their time of need.
Imogene had many jobs throughout her life. As a child she would pick broomcorn and cotton alongside her parents, and she also worked in the garden with her mother. But she thought her life as a Certified Nurse’s Aide when she worked alongside her daughter, was the most fulfilling. Her spirit will live on through all the lives she touched through her work, her friends, and her family.
She had many hobbies. She enjoyed crocheting, planting, harvesting and tending to her livestock on Farmville. She read romance novels, attended Saturday garage sales, made casino trips with her family, and random road trips to nowhere. Anyone who knew Imogene knew she had an addiction to Dr. Pepper and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. She was a wonderful cook and made sure her family and guests never went hungry. Her home was always filled with the wonderful smells of her creations. One of her favorite things was to sit and tell old stories about when she was a kid or teenager, or stories about the struggles of being a new wife and mother. She and her husband would spend hours playing dominos or cards with Ann and Stanley while listening to old country music.
Imogene is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, many siblings, aunts and uncles, many loving pets, including Junior, the pig, parakeets, Winky and Dinky, Chester, the cat, and Cinnamon, the dog.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Gage and two children, Kimberly Denise and Gerry Ray.

Her love for us always showed and taught us how to love others and stay together as a family. Be safe Imogene and watch over us as our guardian angel until it is our time to reunite. We love you with all our hearts.
