Betty Jo Gage, 74, was born April 9, 1935, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to J. C. and Lennie (Ford) McDonald, and passed from this life on January 30, 2010, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, after a short illness..
She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Emma Jane, 2, and Ruth McDonald Trotter, and an infant sister; two brothers, Walter McDonald, a small child, and J. C. McDonald..
Betty attended school in Fort Cobb, Carnegie and Anadarko. She graduated from Anadarko High School with the Class of 1953. She loved attending the class reunions and visiting with her classmates..
Betty married Cecil Gage, a young Marine, also from Anadarko, in California on December 19, 1954..
Mr. Gage's career with the Marine Corps took them to many parts of the country and a long tour in Hawaii..
Betty was a homemaker, wife, sister, mother and wonderful grandmother. She was an avid reader and loved to sew and crochet. She made all her clothes and special shirts for Cecil..
Survivors include 2 sons and their families, Melvin and Beth Gage, their daughters Erin and Ella, all of Denver, Colorado; Eric and Bonnie Gage, their children Adam and Zoe of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Xuma (Marvin) Schlegel, Francis (Sam) Milam, Linda (Leroy) Love, Katie (Larry) Forster, all of Anadarko, and Jessie Greer of Gracemont; two brothers Ben (Faye) McDonald of Yuma, Arizona, and Ford (Janet) McDonald of Ogden, Utah; one brother-in-law, Charles (Phyllis) Gage of Norman and sister-in-law Lavon (James) Monk of St. Louis, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Betty requested that she be cremated and no services be held.
