Jess F. Furrh

August 10, 1925 ~ June 7, 1999

JESS F. FURRH - Memorial services for Jess F. Furrh of Gladewater, Texas, will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Furrh Homeplace at Gladewater.

Mr. Furrh was born August 10, 1925, at Fox and died , in a Tyler, Texas, hospital at the age of 73. He was the son of Roy S. and Viola Lenderman Furrh.

Mr. Furrh was a tool pusher and did other work in the oil fields for 30 years. He was also a rancher at Gladewater for 32 years and once served as Fire Chief of Wilson. Mr. Furrh was a 32nd degree Mason. He and Marceline Willis were married in 1942.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Marceline Furrh of Starville, Texas; a son, Terry George of Gladewater; two daughters, Deanna Dean and Debbie Hood of Gladewater; a sister, Melba Hagood of Lebanon; a good friend, Anita Holloway of Gladewater; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Furrh was preceded in death by a brother, Cornelius Furrh; and a sister, Loretta Hadley.

Services were announced locally by Kennedy Funeral Home.
