Clinton Roy Fuhrmann

Clinton Roy Fuhrmann
April 26, 1922 ~ October 14, 2017

Clinton Roy Fuhrmann, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa on Saturday, October 14, 2017, following a brief illness. He was 95.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Flora Iva (Wittenmyer) Fuhrmann, and siblings Margaret Shields, Ronald Fuhrmann, Delbert Fuhrmann, Maxine Byington, and Norman Fuhrmann.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel (Morgan) Fuhrmann; children Mary White (William), Stephen Fuhrmann (Lola), Thomas Fuhrmann, Daniel Fuhrmann (Sarah); nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Clinton was born on April 26, 1922, in Hennessey, Oklahoma. He graduated from Hennessey High School and Hill's Business College in Oklahoma City. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1945, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946.

Clinton married Mabel Marie Morgan on September 1, 1946, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Clinton and Mabel lived in Bartlesville from 1946 to 1969, and from 1969 to 2017 they lived in Tulsa at their suburban home for 35 years and most recently at Oklahoma Methodist Manor. Together they recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary.
Clinton was employed by Cities Service Oil and Gas Corporation (acquired by Occidental Petroleum in 1982) for his entire professional career, from 1946 to 1986. He began as an oil field engineer and eventually became Manager of the Evaluation Department, where he was responsible for appraisals of Cities Service/Occidental oil and gas properties.
Clinton's spiritual life was guided by the deeply held convictions of his Christian faith. While living in Tulsa he was an active member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. His faith, his family, and his career created for him a full and joyful life, made richer still by many hobbies and activities including farming, mountain hiking, growing roses, playing the piano, and volunteering at church.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home Rosewood Chapel, 2570 S. Harvard Ave. in Tulsa. The memorial service is planned for Wednesday, October 18, at 11:00 a.m., in the Rose Chapel at Boston Avenue Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts in Clinton's name be made to the Oklahoma Methodist Manor in support of the development and maintenance of rose gardens on their campus.
