Matthew A "Matt" Fritz

Matthew A "Matt" Fritz
March 10, 1995 ~ December 30, 2019

Matthew Fritz was born on March 10th, 1995 in Enid, Oklahoma to Michael Fritz and Dawn Phelps. Matthew went on to enlist in the United States Army on April 30th, 2019 to serve as an infantryman. he conducted one station unit training (OSUT) in Echo company,2nd Battalion,19th Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning Georgia.

Upon completion of OSUT, PV2 Fritz was assigned to Charlie company, 3rd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment in August of 2019.PV2 Fritz was assigned as a rifleman and quickly began an arduous training cycle. PV2 Fritz executed multiple training events to include small-arms qualification, crew gunnery, team and squad shoot-house, team through company live-fire exercises (LFX), company situational tactical exercises (STX) and various individual training events.

Following the completion of the training cycle, PV2 Fritz was selected to serve as a Bradley Fighting vehicle driver based on his competence and performance. PV2 Fritz served in this position since November 2019.

PV2 Fritz awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.

Matthew was survived by his fiancé, Kim Osborn , his son Joshua Howard-Fritz, Father Michael Fritz, and his wife Shelly Fritz, three sisters, Desiree Fritz and her Wife Wilma Fritz, Kara Hyle, & Andrea Parks. and one great uncle Duane Fritz. Also surviving Matthew are his mother Dawn Rodgers, his brother Jacob Phelps and Wife Nancy Phelps, Grandmother Beverly Kemp. And Grandfather Donald Norman. Matthew is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Matthew was preceded in death by one grandfather Larry Fritz, one grandmother Yvonne Miller, one great grandmother lois Scott one great aunt Joyce Fritz, one cousin Skyler Miller.
