Services for Marie E. Friesland, 56, Ponca City, will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in New Hope Christian Fellowship, Ponca City, with Pastor Jack Adams. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Marie was born on October 8, 1955 in Ponca City, the daughter of Byron and Gail Watson Lockwood, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Shawn Manor. She was raised in Ponca City until her sixth grade, when her family moved to Illinois. . Later, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked as a receptionist and was an advocate for the AA.. Marie moved back to Ponca City in 2004 where she worked as a dietary aide, and recently, a cook at Shawn Manor. Marie was a member of New Hope Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include daughters, Gail Marie Friesland-Sharon of Omaha, Nebraska, Jammie Lynn Friesland of Omaha, Nebraska, and Pattie Mae Friesland-Huetson of Rapid City, South Dakota; eight grandchildren; her father, Byron and wife Jolene Lockwood of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; step-father, Gilbert Kahler of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters, Gail Ann Anderson of Roanoke, Virginia, Tonda Cloud of Seymour, Tennesse, Crystal Kahler of Taylorville, Illinois, Theresa Lockwood Horton of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Tammy Nelson of Blackwell, Oklahoma; Brothers, Byron Lockwood, Jr. of Great River, Wyoming, Willis Lockwood of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Terry Lockwood of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Marie was preceded in death by her mother.
