Friesen, Blake Daniel Jay, 25, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born November 18, 1986 in Norman, Oklahoma.
Blake had a real passion for cooking that began with family over breakfast and special occasions which lead him to culinary school. After culinary school, he worked at Legends, Ruby’s Diner and a catering service in California. In addition to cooking, Blake enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Blake looked forward to time spent with family and friends and had a genuine love for children. Blake had a special bond and love for his brothers, Wesley and late brother Darren. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his beautiful smile and warm eyes.
Blake is survived by his father, Rick Friesen; his mother, Lisa Abel; brother, Wesley Friesen; grandparents, Earleene Kelley, Stan Abel all of Norman, Oklahoma, and Carol Friesen- Hamer of Tennessee; aunts and uncles, Deborah Abel, Darren Abel, Gina Friesen-Helms, Natalie Abel, and Lindsey Abel; and a host of cousins and other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Darren Friesen and grandfather, Richard Friesen.
Family will be greeting friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Memorial Services will be held 3 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2012 at Journey Church, 3801 Journey Parkway, Norman, Oklahoma.
Arrangements for Blake and his family have been placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
