Juanita Lee Frenchman, 72, passed from this life on February 29, 2020, with her sisters by her side in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Born on May 27, 1947, in Chandler, Oklahoma, Juanita is the daughter of Fray A. Taber and Euna Faye (Hutchinson) Taber. As the family traveled around, Juanita grew up in numerous places including Maude, Shawnee, Kingfisher, Chandler and Tulsa. Juanita completed her education in Mannford, Oklahoma. While in school, she worked at a Tulsa donut shop. Later, Juanita worked at KFC as well as Tulsa Poly Films. Juanita had an entrepreneurial spirit, opening several taverns, including Nita’s in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the end of her career, she worked at the Moose Lodge in Tulsa, bartending to its patrons. After living in Tulsa for a few years, she moved to Mounds, Oklahoma. The past three years, Juanita had been living in Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Juanita’s life was a wild one, with many adventures taking place including an accidental electrocution, a stabbing, a couple car wrecks, as well as jumping from a moving car. She loved to sing, dance, hosting karaoke nights, as well as an avid pool player. In contrast, her family describes her as a soft spoken and classy lady. She was also talented seamstress, making a variety of clothes and shoes, including wedding dresses for her sisters and nieces. Her clothes were often paired with turquoise jewelry which she adored. Her creative spirit also led her to create nicknames for most of her family and friends.
Juanita is survived by her sons, Andrew Scott Robinson, Russell Ray Robinson, Kelley Don Robinson, and Timothy Dale Robinson; her mother, Euna Robinson; 5 sisters, Kay Edmondson, Dorthy Harrell, Freda Bunde, Esther Zaferis, and Deborah Barrett; four brothers, Bill Bean, Larry Bean, Kenny Taber, and Lester Taber; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father and 5 brothers.
Upon her wishes, Juanita will be cremated. The family is holding a celebration of Juanita’s life at the Moose Lodge from noon till 3:00 PM in Tulsa, Oklahoma, located at 11106 East 7th Street.
