Reba Freeman, 89, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026.
She was born Reba Olene Bennett on October 23, 1936, in Whitfield, Texas, to William and Lois Bennett. She grew up in the Kress area alongside her siblings Chloe Ann, JoAnn, and Jimmy Dale. Reba graduated from Kress High School where she enjoyed playing basketball.
On October 27, 1954, she married the love of her life, G.C. Freeman, Jr. While living in Texas, they welcomed their first daughter, Brenda Kay. In 1957, the family moved to Miami, Oklahoma, where G.C. accepted a position as the Ottawa County court reporter. Their daughters Roxanna Marie, Tammy Dee, and Jennifer Lynn were later born there. Reba worked for many years at Belk's, Gibson's Pharmacy, and May's Drug Store.
The Freemans were faithful members of the Miami First Baptist Church. One
of Reba's greatest joys was crappie fishing at Grand Lake.
Her baking
became a tradition of its own. Whether it was a holiday or birthday
celebration, she arrived with her signature red velvet cake or thumbprint
cookies - treats that were as unforgettable as she was.
She will be remembered for her generosity, her love of family, and the joy she brought to every gathering. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to call her friend. In 2010, the Freemans moved from their Miami cattle farm to Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Chloe Ann Carley and Jimmy Dale Bennett; daughter, Tammy Dee; and son-in-law, Dave Parcell.
Reba is survived by her daughters: Brenda Thompson and husband Bobby; Roxie Parcell; Jenny Brown and husband Rusty. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Kenzie Royce and husband Thomas; Derek Parcell; Kelsey Cox and husband Andy; Braden Brown; Kyler Brown; Kailyn Brown; as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Maddox Royce; Ellasyn Royce; Teel Cox.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Journey Home (www.thejourneyhomeok.org/donate) in memory of Reba.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
