Services for Alfred Wayne Franks, 79, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Randy Golden will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Franks passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at his home. He was born May 30, 1936 at Gainesville, TX to Albert Benton and Lucille Irene Thompson Franks.
He married Ruth Hardin Shores April 24, 1974. Mr. Franks was an oilfield worker for many years. He and his wife lived in Ada from 1975 until 1994 when they moved to Arlington, TX. He owned and operated an air-conditioning/heating business in Arlington, TX from 1995 - 2008. He and his wife came back to Ada in 2010 from Arlington. He was a member of High Hill Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of the home; his children, John Russell Shores of Ada, Beverly Robbins of Arlington, TX, Kevin Franks of Wyoming, Meredith Bentley of Era, TX and Cynthia Ellis of Ada; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Wright, Pilot Point, TX and Shirley McCulley, Whitesboro, TX; a brother, Boyd Franks, Pilot Point, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kerri Ann Robertson.
