James Franklin was born December 10, 1928 to James Carter and Myrtle Ella Franklin in Jackson County Tennessee. He departed this life May 23, 2020 at the age of 91.
After graduating from high school, he began a career serving his country in the United States Air Force where he remained active during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed many years with his wife, Florence Ann Franklin until her passing in 2001. After his military retirement he started a second career as a truck driver.
He enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar and organ and especially reading. He also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Diane Moore and husband Tony, Jeanette Woods and husband Gilford, Tammy Clark and husband Joey; five grandchildren, Holly Thompson, Nicole Alcorn, Shelby Littlesun, Kasey Heidenreich and Dustin Moore; five great grandchildren, Kendell Begaye, Kennedy Thompson, Kelby Page, Maddox Thompson and Copelan Alcorn. He is preceded by his parents, wife and three sisters, Analea, Elsie and Ada.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 28th at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Funeral Chapel.
