Keith Dwayne Fountain — purveyor of countless tales — true, tall and in-between. Born in Watonga, Oklahoma, to Marvin and Dessie Fountain on August 7, 1948, Keith ended his earthly journey on August 13, 2021.
It was once remarked by his closest friends that, "We could write a book about your life, but we would have to sell it in the fiction section because no one would believe it was true!" He had a story for every occasion and could tell them with such skill rivaled only by the greatest of comedians. Those of us lucky enough to have known him will always remember that smile and contagious belly laugh that could light up and capture a room.
He held various jobs during his remarkable life but spent most of his career in the oilfield as a production foreman. After retiring from Marathon Oil in 2000, he continued working in the oilfield and even briefly as a prison guard, car salesman and over-the-road trucker — which he loved.
We will all miss the big man with the even bigger heart. He has brightened so many lives with his humor, love, and abundant generosity. If he touched your life in some way, please celebrate him by sharing your stories and pictures on Facebook #keithfountain.
Services to be held Saturday, August 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Canton Christian Church.
