Funeral service for former Lawton residence, Martha Ellen Foster, 94, of Chickasha will be at University Church of Christ with Mr. Weldon Flanagan, minister, officiating. Mrs. Foster died on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in Chickasha.
She was born on October 28, 1914 in Beckam County, Oklahoma to Eddie Clancy and Betty [Simmons] Clancy. She attended school in Carter, Oklahoma and graduated from Carter, Oklahoma in 1932.
After graduation, she met and married Robert Adren Foster on March 31,1934. She and Robert moved to Tipton where they lived from 1940 -1941. They then moved to Sayre, Oklahoma where they lived from 1942-1943 then to Elk City, Oklahoma from 1944-1949. They moved to Lawton in 1949 where she lived from 1949 -2007.
While in Lawton, she was employed with the Lawton Constitution where she worked as a linetype operator and proofreader for many years.
In 2008, Martha moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma where she remained until her death.
She was a long time member of University Church of Christ in Lawton.
She is survived by her son Damon Foster and his wife, Kathy, of Lawton, and her daughter Adrian Drew of Chickasha; three grandchildren, Terri Joiner, Jeffrey Foster, and Holly Foster; and one great grandson, Charles Keith Drew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, 2 sisters, and a great grandson.
