Elizabeth Rose "Bessie" Forslund
October 30, 1918 ~ April 14, 2017

Elizabeth "Bessie" Rose Forslund, 98 of Bartlesville, OK, passed away April 14, 2017 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, surrounded by loving family.

She was born October 30, 1918 in Vancouver, Canada to James and Elenor (Belle) Stephens.

Bessie attended tailoring school and became a professional seamstress after graduating high school. She relocated to the United States in 1944, where she worked making custom clothing for the entertainment industry and designer wedding dresses. Bessie very proudly gained her US citizenship at the age of 90.

She was married May 23, 1948 to Emery Forslund.

Bessie enjoyed training show poodles, gardening, and traveling around the world. The biggest part of Bessie's life was her volunteer work and caring for friends, family, and pets. She volunteered throughout her life with Eden Lutheran Church in Riverside, California with missions and homeless outreach.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Pat Stubbs; brother, James T. Stephens; two daughters, Diane H. Seeman and Linda Levine; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Her parents; husband; sister, Leon Parsons; sister, Irene Hart and one grandchild preceded her in death.

A family and friends service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bartlesville, Oklahoma with Pastor William Shupe officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home.
