Richard Dean Ford was born August 2, 1946, in Liberal, KS, to J.D. and Phyllis Ford and passed away June 5, 2022. At the time of his death he and his wife April Susan Ford were living in Park Hill, OK.
Rich grew up in Guymon, OK. As a teen he worked in his father and grandfather's business, the Texas County Motor Company, and on his Uncle Gene Miller's Ranch. He attended Oklahoma State University in 1965, graduating with an accounting degree. In 1970, he and his best friend Paul Craig enlisted and served with the 45th infantry division of the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Richard later earned his law degree from Oklahoma City University law school. He went on to practice law in Enid, Hinton, Geary, Guymon and Edmond.
Rich was an avid hunter and fisherman. He fished pro-am tournaments and was sponsored by Bullet boats. He shared his passion for these sports with his son and grandsons.
Richard is survived by his wife, April Susan Woodward Ford; sister, Gay Lynn Dillman and husband Bob; daughter, Meagan Ford Begin and husband Eric; son, Matthew Reece Ford and wife Paula; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
