Alan Eugene Ford
December 16, 1942 ~ July 14, 2021

Alan Eugene Ford, age 78 of Guthrie, Oklahoma was born on December 16, 1942 in Guthrie to Doyle J. and Ruth Elaine (Garrett) Ford. He passed away on July 14, 2021 in Guthrie.

Alan graduated from Guthrie High School in 1960. He married Shirley Clay- Rothermel on June 24, 1983. He served as assistant chief for the Guthrie Fire Department, worked for Guthrie Public Schools, and worked in the electrical field doing numerous journeyman/electrician jobs. He served as a Freemason for 57 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and golf.

Alan is survived by his wife Shirley Ford; two sons: Alan Ford, Jr. and wife Beth and Curtis Ford and wife Betty; daughter Robyn Smith and husband Steve; sister Marna Gay Short and husband Bernard; brother Dale Ford; three stepchildren: Eddie Lee Rothermel, Cheryl McCorkle, and. Deanna Brawner; grandchildren: Brandy, Josh, Skylar, Rachel, Taylor, Fabian, Alan Ford III (Trey), Allie, Dalton, Shelly, Kelly, Amanda, and Braxton; and 18 great grandchildren. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, son Floyd Ford, brother Garry Ford, grandson Lance Ford, and granddaughter Michele Smith.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at SouthPointe Baptist Church with Pastor Robby Robbins and Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Oklahoma’s Fallen & Living Firefighters Memorial (2716 N.E. 50th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73111).

The family would like to give a special thanks to their friends and neighbors who have blessed them with prayers, food, and visits. They would also like to give a special thanks to everyone at Companion Hospice.
