Barbara Janell Forbis was born November 5, 1941 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Thad Andy Hightower and Zelta Marie (White) Hightower. She passed away March 3, 2023 in Stroud at the age of 81.
Barbara married Charles Forbis August 5, 1960. She spent her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always taking care of others. Her family was her biggest joy. She loved well and was always well loved by her family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Andy and Zelta; her husband of 53 years, Charles Forbis; daughter Julie Forbis, siblings, Jerry Hightower, Billie Tucker, Sharon Murray, Pam Montoya, brother-in-law Larry Forbis.
Survivors include her daughter Tina and husband Jimmy Christy of Davenport, son Scott Forbis and wife Darla of Chandler; siblings Wanda and husband Roy Thompson, Rick Hightower and wife Debra; sisters-in- law Norma Hightower, Lesa Forbis, Helen McCarl, brothers-in-law Curtis Forbis and wife Myrna, Darrell Murray; grandchildren Miranda Goff, Daryn Christy, Dylan Christy, Tyler Forbis, Ryan Forbis, Anna Lowther; great-grandchildren Paizley Christy, Brinlee Christy, Hayes Christy, Sutton Goff, Payton Christy, Landry Christy, Collins Christy, Lylah Forbis, Aurora Forbis, Kyzer Lowther, Violet Lowther; along with many other family and friends.
A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Davenport. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
