Jerry Charles Forbes age 78 of Midwest City, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Integris S.W. Medical Center in OKC. He was born November 11, 1935 in Chandler, Oklahoma. He was the 4th child of five children born to Lewis Samuel Forbes and Elizabeth (McAmis) Forbes. Jerry grew up in Chandler and later moved to OKC where he graduated from Classen High School in 1953. Two years later he married Betty Lou Tankersley and together they raised two children, Sue and Ronnie. At age 18, Jerry began working for Lee Way Motor Freight in OKC and continued working there until he retired in 1991. While working there he was a member of the Teamsters Local Union 886. Throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping and hunting. He was an avid reader of western books, he loved watching old western movie and he also enjoyed watching football on TV. In his later years he just liked staying at home.
He was preceded in death by: Parents: Lewis and Elizabeth Forbes, Two sisters: Vera Louise Forbes and Wilma Jean Jones,
He is survived by: Two children: Sue Forbes Petty of Spencer, OK, Ronnie Forbes and wife Janis of Newcastle, One brother: Henry Forbes of OKC, One sister: Rose Mary Klien of Mustang, Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
