Elizabeth Marie Foglesong

Elizabeth Marie Foglesong
April 12, 1945 ~ January 29, 2022

It is simultaneously, with the pain of overwhelming loss and with the great honor of having had a chance to share this life with her, that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Marie Foglesong, 76, of Woodward, Oklahoma.

Liz was born February 12, 1945 to Myrle Kenneth Foglesong and Hanna Dee Foglesong of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She died in her home after a short but intense battle with cancer Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 10:29 a.m. She was surrounded by the love her sister Carol Ann Foglesong Malik and friend Beverly Baird.

Liz was an intense spark in the lives of her family and everyone who had a chance to spend even a moment with her. To know her was to be infected and intrigued by her kindness, her energy, her can-do attitude and her courageous and successful endeavors as a real estate entrepreneur.

Liz graduated from Crooked Oak High School in Oklahoma City and attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

In 1990 Liz moved to Woodward. Not soon after she arrived here, she began her well-known real estate career with Frontier Real Estate. She earned her GRI (Graduate of Realtor Institute) and e-PRO (Ethernet Professional) designations with the National Association of Realtors.

In 1993, the intrepid businesswoman earned her Broker Associate license and in 1999, opened Northwest Real Estate as a broker-owner. In this role, Liz stood by her own philosophy of giving back to her community and serving her customers with a level of service that is not commonly found. She taught, she mentored, and she developed her company into the premier real estate agency it is today.

Liz was a plucky optimist who never let a challenge keep her from achieving her goals. Over her many years in Woodward, she held many offices on the Northwest Oklahoma Association of Realtors including President and State Director. She also served on the board of the Woodward Senior Center.

In her spare time, Liz loved playing with her beloved dogs and kitties, working on her farm and in her garden.

Liza's sister Carol Ann Foglesong Malik and her close friend and business associate Kenton Baird remember Liz as a person of not only great passion and drive but of great grace and tenderness.

She was an empathic person. She felt people's pain. She really cared, Carol Ann Foglesong Malik said.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents Myrle Kenneth Foglesong and Hanna Dee Fogleson and her sister Delpha Dee Foglesong Carson and Leota Lea Foglesong Hall and her brother Robert Foglesong. She is survived by her sister Carol Ann Foglesong Malik and Husband Humayun Malik of Oklahoma City.

She was also survived by numerous close friends and fellow realtors, who she considered her realtor family.

A memorial service for Liz Foglesong will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating.
