Jean Foard, 52-year-old-Woodward resident, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Jeanne Lea Foard was born on September 29, 1968, in Lubbock, Texas to Donald Rix Foard and Carolyn Jean (Brasfield) Hockman. She grew up in Booneville, Arkansas and later graduated from Booneville High School. Jean then attended McMurray University where she finished her undergraduate degree. She then attended the University of Tulsa School of Law where she achieved her Juris Doctor Degree. In 2014, Jean met her significant other, Jame Burris. The couple made their home in Woodward and lived there until her passing.
Jean was the proud owner of Foard and Talley Law Firm as well as Long Haul Escort. She loved her dogs, Max, Millie, and Jolie. She also enjoyed music, sightseeing, poker, going to concerts, buying things, and Texas Tech Football. Jean was a member of the Woodward Moose Lodge and the Woodward Bar Association.
She is survived by her father, Donald Foard and wife Pat; significant other, James Burris; sister, Elise Foard and Jesse Martine; niece and nephew, Lily and Luke Talley; close friends Careylyn Guthrie and Michelle Brown; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Hockman and an infant daughter, Taryn Dawn Johnson.
