Sylva Charles Fluty, 76, of Bartlesville, died at 6:18 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Jane Phillips Hospital. Charles was born in Dewey on November 16, 1940. He was the son of Robert Lane Fluty and Mae (Freeman) Fluty. He grew up and graduated from Dewey High School.
Charles Served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1966 and spent 3 years overseas. He also spent 11 years in the Army Reserves.
He was employed by TRW/Reda and then Farmland before his retirement. He loved playing basketball in his younger years. He enjoyed having coffee with his family and friends. In his spare time he liked watching sports and tinkering in his garage. Charles will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always put everyone else before himself. He was a simple, kind, and unselfish man. And now, he is reunited with the love of his life, Kay.
He is preceded in death by his late wife, Kay (Haymaker) Fluty. Survivors include two sisters, Jean Franco and Melba Fluty, his daughter, Tonya (Fluty) Simons, his son, Chris Fluty, his son-in-law, Rob Simons, his daughter-in-law, Natalie (Silger) Fluty, his five grandchildren Cailin, Sage, Jack, Allye, and Ava, nephews Joe, Kerric, and Mark Franco and niece Angie Franco.
There will not be a funeral or services, which were Charles' wishes.
Cremation is under the care of Stumpff Funeral Home.
