Memorials services Denver Carl Flowers, 84, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Jody Newberry will officiate.
He was born December 25, 1931 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Jesse and Beulah Brownfield Flowers. He went to be with his Savior on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home in Oakman. He attended Hickory schools, joined the Army and fought in the Korean War and earned a Bachelor's degree from East Central University.
He married Luciile Cooper June, 1955. He later married Janice Scroggins (Rhea) on February 27, 1987. Denver was a teacher for several years in Colorado and Oklahoma. He was later a Sanitarian Inspector with the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Denver loved to travel, fish, garden and fix things (remodel homes and anything mechanical). Denver had a gift for telling stories and enjoyed sharing them with others.
Denver is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille Cooper and several siblings.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Janice, of the home; his children, Karla Chaffin of Norman, Keith Flowers of Ada; stepchildren, Teri Scroggins of Snyder, Karen Scroggins of Wichita, Kansas, Brian Scroggins of Soper; his brother, L. A. Flowers of Ardmore; a sister, Dorothy Cottle of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, Carrie Chaffin, Jenifer Chaffin, Kelsey Ensey, Brooke Harris, Emmlie Scroggins, Colton Scroggins and Trinity McKown; seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Dority, Christian Hoover, Madison Hoover, Garrett Hoover, Shelby Ensey, Shannon Ensey and Mason Harris-Sears.
