Gordon Jay Fitzgerald was born on July 3, 1942 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Lloyd David Fitzgerald and Ola Mae (Smith) Fitzgerald. He passed away with his wife at his side on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the age of 78 in Marlow.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 11:30 AM at the Freedom Biker Church in Duncan with Rev. Billy Morgan officiating.
Gordon served in the United States Navy for seven years after graduating from Duncan High School with the Class of 1963. He worked for Halliburton, Chief GMC, Zerox, and his own upholstery shop for many years in the Stephens County area, but his true passion in life was being the owner and a coach of the Power Twistars Tumbling and Trampoline. He loved each and every athlete he worked with throughout the years and became known to them as "Dad" to so many.
Gordon married the love of his life, Sudie Green, after they met on a Friday night in December and were married a month later on January 23, 1983. They both knew they were going to spend the rest of their lives together, spending 39 years of marriage together. They truly were the love of each other's lives.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Sudie Fitzgerald of the home, four children: Gina Sheree Solomon and husband Greg of Duncan; Greg Jay Fitzgerald and wife Kim of Marlow; Chasity Michele McReynolds of Irving, TX; Jessica Leighann Rogers and husband Mike of Bixby; ten grandchildren: Makensi Cook; Micah Barnett; Jose Garza; Chace Fitzgerald; Stone Fitzgerald; Ella Roberts; Boyd Simons; Danny McReynolds; Jackson Rogers; Jacob Rogers; two great-grandchildren: Jackson; Baylor; and a brother, David Fitzgerald of Cheaspeake, VA.
