Denman Wyly Fite

July 9, 1935 ~ June 26, 2005

A memorial service for Denman Wyly Fite, 69, of Newalla will be held tonight (Thursday), June 30, 2005 at 7 p.m. at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reggie Dowdy officiating. Services will be under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Fite died June 26, 2005 at the Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada.

He was born July 9, 1935 in Titanic, near Stillwel, Okla., the third of four children of Adelbert Willard Fite and Juanita Pickard Fite. He was reared near Titanic until he was nine years old when his family moved to the Oklahoma City area where he attended Southeast High School, graduating with the Class of 1953.

Mr. Fite married Pat Dowdy in 1960 and together they reared three children. He later married Caroline and had another daughter.

In his early years, Mr. Fite worked as a truck driver and hauled cross country. He later became and remained a heating and air conditioning technician.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Delano Fite.

Survivors include two sons, Denman Willard Fite and his wife, Gail, and Curtis Allen Fite, all of Newalla; two daughters, Glovanna Blackledge and her husband, Robert, of Newalla and Maygan Karoline Fite of Largo, Fla.; one brother, Richard Fite and his wife, Reba, of Spring Hills, Tenn.; one sister, Glovanna Perricone of Largo, Fla.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
