William Lee Fisher: Born September 30, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas to G.W. and Mary Lee Fisher; died January 7, 2016 in Bartlesville, OK.

Born into a family of educators, Bill received his early education in Fort Worth Public Schools, graduating from Eastern Hills High School. He received a B.S. in Geology from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in Lawrence. His first job as an exploration geologist was with Amoco Production Company in Denver, CO. He also worked for General American Oil of Texas until he was acquired by Phillips Petroleum. Bill worked for many years as an exploration geologist in the 4 Corners area of the US and finished his career exploring in the former Soviet Union.

Bill was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting, especially in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. In his later years, he hunted for pheasant in South Dakota, often in the company of his beloved cocker spaniel, Annie Okie. He faithfully followed the Kansas Jayhawks football and basketball teams along with the Denver Broncos. His beautiful flowerbeds, featuring a wide variety of prized iris, were enjoyed by many Bartlesville residents. He also greatly enjoyed an extensive model railroading hobby. He was an active member of Disciples Christian Church, serving as an Elder and the head of several committees. He delivered meals for many years as part of the Bartlesville Nutrition Project.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter Muriel and husband Dr. Gregory Folsom of Maple Grove, MN; son Josh and wife Elizabeth of Roseville, MN; grandchildren Camille and Nate Folsom and Emmett and Desmond Fisher; sister Becky and husband Michael Cavender of Plano, TX; nephew Kyle Cavender and wife Brittany of Rockwall, TX, and niece Lauren Cavender of Littleton, CO.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Bill's memory may be sent to the Washington County SPCA, 16620 State Hwy. 123, Bartlesville, OK 74006.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 12, at 3:00 p.m. at Disciples Christian Church, 5800 Douglas Lane, Bartlesville. Arrangements for Mr. Fisher were entrusted to the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
