Jerome Edward Fink, 87, of rural Dewey, joined his beloved wife, Carol Ann Fink, in Heaven on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Jerome was born October 19, 1935, in Alluwe, Oklahoma, to William Chester Fink and Vera Dora Dean (Goad) Fink. He attended school in Alluwe, where he graduated high school as the class Salutatorian. He served his country in the U.S. Army. During high school and in the Army, Jerome played baseball as a pitcher.
He married Georgia Ann Riley 1958 and to this union three children were born, Jeri, Rocky, and Rusty. After his discharge from the military, he was employed at Keystone Pipe and Supply. In 1965, Jerome became a partner in Keystone Beard in Dewey. He worked there as a partner until he retired in the mid- to late-1990s.
Jerome married Carol Ann Errand on December 31, 1969, adding Carol’s children, Jodi and Jackie, to his family. A few years later, the couple welcomed Jamie to the family.
The young family enjoyed going camping, fishing and hunting. While his children were growing up, Jerome often served as a mentor to many of the neighborhood kids. Making sure if someone was hungry they were fed, even going as far as buying cleats for baseball when needed. When he was in his 50s, Jerome developed a love for golf. He continued to live an active lifestyle into his older years and walked miles every day the weather allowed.
Survivors include his six children, Jeri Bridwell and husband John, Rocky Fink, Jodi Reed, Jackie Stokes, Rusty Fink and wife Teri, and Jamie Smith and husband Alex; two sisters, Barbara Smith, and Jenny Fink; 14 grandchildren, Justin, Jay, Brandon, Ryan, Shayla, Bastian, Tyler, Jordan, Jared, Keenen, Dylan, Zayne, Austin, and Collin; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. In addition to his wife Carol Fink, Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Chet Jr.; and his sister, Becky.
