Virginia Ann Finigan was born in Elk City, OK on March 17, 1932, and unexpectedly left us on Tuesday, March 9, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vera Pearl Carter and Joseph Uly Carter; several siblings including two WWII MIA Veterans; and her son, Rodney Bruce Anderson.
She is survived by her sons, Billy Douglas Anderson of Fresno, CA, and Toby J. Anderson of Bakersfield, CA; her sister, Elizabeth "Mickey" Ridge and her husband Dallas of Shafter, CA; her brother, Charles Lee Carter and his wife Mollie of Bakersfield, CA; numerous nieces , nephews and friends.
Virginia, "Sis" or "Gini", was born during the dark hours of the Great Depression. Her mother and siblings were brought to California aboard a train from dust bowl Oklahoma during the extensive "Okie migration" in 1936. Her father moved and settled the family in Shafter, CA in 1937.
Virginia worked for the Department of Food and Agriculture until she retired in October of 2003.
Virginia, Mom, Sis, Gini, you will be, and are, sorely missed.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held at Green Lawn Memorial Chapel in Bakersfield, on Wednesday, March 17, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m.
