Osie Russell "Russ" Findley

March 1, 1929 ~ 2006

Osie "Russ" was born March 1, 1929, in Hinton, Oklahoma to Osie Ruben Findley and Stella Gertrude Bullock.

He married Mildred Francis Palmer July 2, 1950.

Russ was in the U. S. Marine Corp from 1947 - 1950 where he rose to the rank of Corporal.

He was given the honor of 32nd degree Mason, with the Al Malaikah Shriners of Bakersfield, CA.

Professionally, he had been a general contractor since 1954.

Russ had a daughter, Pam Clark, husband Ed of Bakersfield; two sons, Tim Findley, wife Vicki of Napa, and Michael Findley, wife Linda of Novato.

He had a great love for the Lord and his kindness was demonstrated to all of the families he helped during their hard times. Russ had a great conviction for living life healthy and to its fullest.

Building homes and creating them from nothing was his life's ambition. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed. Most people know Russ as a kind man who walked with a limp and a crooked cowboy hat. We loved how he would give kisses, which he called sugar and how his whiskers always scratched our cheeks. His adoring wife, Mildred takes comfort in knowing he has gone home to be with the Lord. Many, many people loved Russ.

Services are scheduled for Friday, March 10, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary Chapel. Interment immediately following at Union Cemetery.
