Clyde Cleon Fields, of Caney, passed from this world, on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Caney Guest Home Estates. He was 100 years old
Clyde was born June 1, 1913 southwest of Tyro to Charles Theo and Maggie (Ringeifen) Fields
Clyde attended State Line, Pleasant Valley, and Cotton Valley Grade Schools and graduated from Caney High School in 1931. He attended Bartlesville Business College
He married Vera G. Cargile on May 11, 1937 at the Tyro Methodist Church in Tyro. She preceded him in death on February 20, 1983. He married Nina DeMarcus on February 15, 1985 and preceded him in death on April 9, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters
Clyde and Vera had three children, son, Dwight Fields and wife Marcia of Tyro; daughter, Linda Newby and husband Warren of rural Coffeyville; and son, Loyd Fields and wife Patty of Caney. Clyde had 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Debbie and James Castillo and two sons of Houston, TX, Oren and Charla Fields and two daughters of Keller, TX, Ernest and Cyndi Fields and two daughters of Wills Point, TX, Mike and Jill Tatum and two sons of Manhattan, KS, Craig and Julie Newby and three sons of rural Coffeyville, Carrie Newdigger and two children of Macksville, KS, Lori and Jason Williams and three children of Troy MO, David and DeRhonda Newby and three children of Oswego, KS, Kelly and Sara Fields and five children of Springfield, MO, and Shane and Marissa Fields and two children of Sedan, KS, two step-daughters, four step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren
Clyde worked for Co-Op pipeline and as a carpenter with Joe Harmon. He retired at 20 years from Phillips Petroleum Company in 1977
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Caney United Methodist Church in Caney, KS with Rev. Bob Clemence officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Caney United Methodist Church
