Vicki Martin Fidler

Vicki Martin Fidler
November 23, 1948 ~ July 28, 2021

Vicki Martin Fidler, 72, was born to James and Almarine Lucas Fidler November 23, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Okla., and passed from this life with her family by her side on July 28, 2021, in Enid.

Raised in Webster Grove, Mo., Vicki graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science. She was formerly married to Michael Martin, and from this union came their two children, Amy and Nick. After living in Chicago, Ill., and Columbia, S.C., the family moved to Enid, where Vicki worked at Enid Memorial Hospital as a medical technician, was an active member in the First Presbyterian Church, and a generous volunteer for the causes closest to her heart.

In 1990, she moved to Oklahoma City, where she married Lindell Bridges and continued her work as a medical technician at Mercy Hospital until her retirement in 2004. Throughout her life, Vicki placed great importance on her faith and served as an enthusiastic member in her varied church communities. Drawn by her love of animals and passion to protect the planet's wild places, she was also an ardent philanthropist and supporter of conservation efforts around the world. From Grand Canyon to the Galapagos, she enjoyed traveling nationally and internationally, especially with her two kids, Amy and Nick, who brought out her biggest smiles, even when they took her skydiving for her 60th birthday. In her spare time, Vicki found great joy in Braum's ice cream, the Sunday funnies, gardening, and recycling everything.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Martin, of Enid, Okla.; her son Nick Martin, his wife Joy, and their daughter, Vicki's treasured granddaughter, Jolene, of Durango, Colo.; her brother Gary and his wife Ginny, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and their daughter, Vicki's favorite niece, Michelle, of Tucson, Ariz.; and Carolyn Knight, her oldest and dearest friend. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Aunt Juanita Lucas, of Tulsa, Okla.

The family extends deep gratitude to the Brookdale Assisted Living Center's amazing staff, who went above and beyond to provide exceptional care for Vicki in her final days. Memorials may be given in Vicki's honor to the Alzheimer's Association, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family online at www.Brown-Cummings.com. Services honoring the life of Vicki Martin-Fidler will be held privately at a later date.
