Wuletta Mae "Dutch" Ferris was born July 17, 1931, to Opal (Milam) and Granville Nation. She passed from this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at Grace Living Center, Chickasha, Oklahoma, at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 17 days, following an extended illness.
"Dutch" lived most of her life in Caddo County. She lived in Chickasha for 2 years while she was in high school. On October 27, 1948, she and Raymond E. Ferris were married in Chickasha.
"Dutch" worked for about 15 years at Tom's Pharmacy and Stan's Pharmacy. The rest of her adult years, she was a homemaker, who loved to cook and make a garden. She loved going to Colorado.
She has been a member of Laverty Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother (Opal McDowell); two sisters, Debbie Cochran and Gayla Sue Townsend, and one niece, Lindsey Bandy.
Survivors include her husband "Bud" Ferris; two daughters, Betty Jones and husband Arnold, and Rebecca Stucks ad husband Greg, all of Anadarko; two sons, Raymond W. Ferris and wife Diane of Verden, and James Ferris and wife Pat of Anadarko; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Burdette Choate and husband Willard of Anadarko and Chris Darbonne and husband Charlie of California; many cousins, good neighbors and loving friends.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at Laverty Baptist Church, with Greg Brooks, Chaplain for Lifeline Hospice, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials in Dutch's name be sent to the American Cancer Society, 3000 United Founders Blvd., Ste. B-6, Oklahoma City, OK, 73112.
