Emery Lee Ferguson

Emery Lee Ferguson
February 6, 1945 ~ September 1, 2020 (age 75)

Emery Lee Ferguson, 75 years young, left his final mark on this earth on March 22, 2020. He passed away at Hospice in Naples, Florida with his daughter and brother by his side.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at 2:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Riggs, Texoma Cowboy Church in Wichita Falls, Texas, officiating, under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Emery was the firstborn child of three to Emery Ulysses and Elizabeth Ferguson, entering this world on February 6, 1945, in Modesto, California. He grew up in Velma, Oklahoma with his brother and sister, along with a host of cousins. He was baptized at the age of 16 at Skelly Camp Lake and drove the bus for the school his junior and senior years. In 1963, he graduated Velma-Alma High School, joined the Army, and married his high school sweetheart - Glenda Sue Cockrell. They were married 24 years and had a son, Emery Hoyt, and a daughter, Deela Glen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Hoyt.

Emery is survived by his daughter, Deela Smith and husband, Bryan, of Nixa, Missouri; grandson, Wesley Smith and wife, Allison, of Billings, Missouri; grandson, Bryson Smith of Nixa, Missouri; granddaughter, Ashley Mallard and great grandson, Tyce, of Chapmansboro, Tennessee; grandson, Lance Ferguson and wife, Jaci, and great granddaughter, Nora, of Carthage, Illinois; granddaughter, Callie and great granddaughter of Willard, Missouri; brother, Mike Ferguson and wife, Guynell, of Leesburg, Florida (formerly of Duncan, Oklahoma); sister, Sandra Breakfield and husband, Charles, of Duncanville, Texas; nephew, Michael Lee Ferguson and wife, Jennifer, of Norman, Oklahoma; niece, Sara of Seattle, Washington; niece, Rachel of Duncanville, Texas; great niece, Shyanne, and great nephew, Cole, both of Norman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
