Karl D. Felton of Corinth, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Denton, Texas at the age of 58.
Karl was born on December 2, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois. He was baptized at Bethsaida MB Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Karl was deeply influenced by his grandparents Helen and George Felton, who instilled in him the importance of always doing the “next right thing.”
In his early teens, Karl moved to Texas and graduated from Richardson High School in Richardson, Texas in 1985. He graduated from the University of North Texas in 1998 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on radio, television, and film. Ever a lifelong learner, Karl continued his education at Dallas College – first at Brookhaven campus earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology and then at El Centro campus completing his Associate of Applied Science degree in Computed Tomography. He worked in the medical imaging field for twenty years in several different capacities, most recently at Medical City Dallas.
While his career was important to him, his family was his number one priority. After over twenty years together, he married the love of his life, Traci Jaye Morse, on June 11, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Traci and Karl wholeheartedly supported one another’s interests. Karl enjoyed sports, particularly practicing UWAK under Sifu Crow. A dedicated and hardworking man, he took pride in tackling home improvement projects, such as creating and building custom catios and cat trees. He was a lover of old films, music, and philosophical conversations, never turning down a fun debate or argument. Karl had a self-help or how to book for everything. Most recently, he was focused on making plans for the next season of his life together with Traci. Everyone will miss his laugh, his strong hugs, and his sound advice; Karl was so easy to love.
Karl was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen and George Felton, his brother Isaac Manderson, his dad Ken Manderson, and cats Cleo and Gidget.
Karl leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will live on with family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Traci Felton, his daughter, Alanna Felton, son and daughter-in-love Sean and Alyshia Trammell, grandson Ian “The Kid” Trammell, and his bonus daughter Micha Marsh.
He is also survived by his mother, Afrah Manderson; his brother, Alton Manderson; his uncles and aunts, Jakube and Delorse of Chicago, Illinois, and Fred and Renee Felton of Garland, Texas; and his sister-in-law, Darlene McKinnell, of Corinth, Texas. Karl was a proud uncle to his nieces and nephews Isiah, Isyss, Cam, Akeyvion, and Ateya. He will also be fondly remembered by countless friends, many extended family members, and mischievous cats, Zorah, Sagirah, and Keke.
Family hour will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel.
A repass will be held after the service at Roma Restaurant where family and friends can share memories and celebrate Karl.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alton Manderson, Eddie Felton, Isiah Manderson, FreeShawn Felton, Terance Felton, Watson Eaidkaew, Adrian Lopez, Braxton Marsh, and Dorien Beaver.
In his remembrance, Karl would want you to reach out to a friend or family member and spend some quality time talking, or arguing, with them.
