Ruby Lorenea (Collins) Farris

Ruby Lorenea (Collins) Farris
May 12, 1937 ~ July 6, 2016

Ruby L. Farris, 79 passed away July 6, 2016. Ruby was born in Barnsdall, OK. May 12, 1937 to Everett T. Collins, known as Shorty, and Myrtle V. (Britt) Collins. She had 6 siblings. Everett Collins Jr died in infancy, William Collins of Nowata, Ok. Sherman Collins of Pawhuska, Ok. Buelah Collins of California, Betty (Collins) Bluer of California. Bunny Houston Collins of Pawhuska. All have preceded her in death.

Ruby went to the Barnsdall Schools. She left school at a young age but later in her years she received her GED with much joy. Ruby married Bill G. Farris, they had 3 children, Larry D. Farris & wife Tina of Tulsa OK., Billy G. Farris Jr. & wife Evelyn of Yaleville, AR. Shelly L. (Farris) Allison & husband Tom of Bartlesville, Ok.

Ruby had also married in her lifetime Donald R. Robertson, they had a daughter, Donna R. Robertson. Ruby had many nephews, nieces and cousins. Ruby had 11 grandchildren, Christopher Farris, Chad Farris, Jordyn Farris, Melodi Farris, Janice Allison, Melissa (Allison) Gibson, Richard Allison, Raejean Robertson. David Smith, Carol Smith, and Steven Smith. Janice Allison preceded her in death in 2009. Ruby had 8 great grandchildren, Brianna and Micayla Farris, Lyric Thornborough, Shawn Phillips, Gabrial Myer, Bailey and Bryce Gibson, and Wyatt Allison. She had 1 great great grandchild Haydin Phillips 1 years old.

Ruby loved sewing for her family as well as for those who knew her trade. She was very fond of camping and fishing with her family. Ruby worked as a housekeeper at a hotel and as cashier at a salon for years. But mostly a homemaker. Ruby always made sure the children had what they needed to make a home when they completed school. She gave as much advice as she could about how life had its ups and downs and if life gave you lemons well make lemonade and go on. She was a simple lady but when others needed help she always was there to help. She would say whatever was on her mind. She endured a lot of hard obstacles in life and she made it like a cat with 9 lives. She never gave up. That was her legacy to tell all the kids whatever you do, don't give up! Keep trying to do your best and all will be okay. She will be greatly missed.

The family has chosen to have private services. Arrangements and cremation under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org.
