Leon grew up attending Bristow Schools and was a graduate of Bristow Highschool. Leon earned his retirement from American Airlines after twenty plus years of service in the aerospace industry. Sunny loved sports, basketball and football were two of his favorite past times.

Sunny was very involved in church serving as a deacon in the past. He was currently attending Pilgrim Baptist Church in Bristow, Oklahoma. Family was important. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Leon is survived by his children, Leon Farmer III and Sam Hughes; sisters, Diane Tiger, Denetta Johnson, Della Smittick and Marzetta Kay Barksdale; three grandchildren, Brandy Farmer, Tiffany Washington and Erica Washington as well as great grandchildren.
