Arna Lee (Jahnke) Farabee

Arna Lee (Jahnke) Farabee
November 15, 1940 ~ September 20, 2020

Arna Lee Farabee went to her final rest Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020. Arna was born Nov. 15, 1940, to John and Gertrude Jahnke and grew up in Nebraska. In 1965, she married Arthur Farabee, a career Air Force man, and they and their children lived globally: South Carolina, Oklahoma the first time, Montana, England and his last station brought them to Vance Air Force Base, where they made Waukomis their home. Art preceded her in death in August, 2010.

Arna is survived by daughter, Kay (Bill) Sewell and her sons, Austin and Zakery; son, Brian (Margie) and his daughters, Jamie and Lesa; four others and then her most absolute favorite person, great-granddaughter, Addison. Other survivors are five siblings, Jeanette Hobelman, Nebraska; Lynn Jahnke (Karen), Iowa; Cheryl Pinkley, Arkansas; Kevin Jahnke (Patricia), Arizona; Collin Jahnke, Arkansas, and nieces and nephews. Her quick wit will be missed at the family table.

Arna was employed in Enid by Groendyke and retired from civil service at Vance Air Force Base. She was a good bowler, loved golfing and traveling with her sister. She was happy out in the Oklahoma sunshine.

Due to COVID-19, the family will have a memorial in November to celebrate her nearly 80 years on earth. Memorials can be made online to brightfocus.org/cure ALZ or to your local Alzheimer's research center.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Condolences may be given to the family online at www.enidwecare.com
