Nancy Fantaro, age 73, of Newcastle, formerly of Chicago, passed away on May 30, 2023. Nancy Diane Addante was born on February 21, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of 2 children born to Francis Paul Addante and Lorraine Mae (Lanke) Addante. She was raised in Chicago, where she attended school and graduated with the Hornet Class of 1968, from Foreman High School.
Shortly after graduating, she went to work for Standard Oil Company in downtown Chicago. It was during this time, that she ran into young man by the name of, Anthony Donald Fantaro, while ice skating with mutual friends. They got married on February 22, 1970 and have shared 53 blissful years together. The rest, as they say, is history. Together they raised three beautiful children, Anthony, Julie, and Lisa. Becoming a mother was truly one of Nancy’s greatest accomplishments in life. She was the perfect example of a devoted mother, and was involved in everything her children were apart of. Nancy was just a fun person to be around, and always had a “happy go lucky” spirit. More than anything, Nancy was a family woman. She adored her husband, children, and grandchildren, and the countless memories they shared. One of their favorites, is of her making her famous cheesecake for dessert. It was her special dish, made with love every single time. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Francis and Lorraine Addante.
Nancy is survived by: her husband, Anthony Fantaro of the home; daughters, Julie (Rye) Garrels of Newcastle and Lisa (Dallas) Tyler of Chicago, Illinois; son, Anthony Fantaro of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Patricia (Danny) Monaco of Algonquin, Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Joey, Brandon, and Presley, and a host of other family and friends.
