Mary Frances (Flood) Fancher

Mary Frances (Flood) Fancher
August 15, 1926 ~ January 15, 2021

Mary Frances (Flood) Fancher died comfortably in her Edmond, OK home on January 15th. She was born August 15, 1926 in Richmond, Indiana, to Floyd Flood and Helen Cook Flood.

Her father worked for the Federal Government and they traveled throughout her youth, ending up in Gage, Oklahoma which is where she graduated from Gage HS at 16. She attended one semester at NWOSU in Alva, Oklahoma, then off to Oklahoma City to take a job with Oklahoma DPW (DHS) as a secretary to L.E. Rader. In 1982 she retired after 38 years of dedication, working for the State of Oklahoma DHS, Personnel and Payroll.

She married Jack L. Fancher, June 1, 1947, and were married 65 years and lived in Bethany, OK. They had two children, Cheryl Ann Fancher Booze and Charles (Chuck) Fancher and they had 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. Through the years, she and Jack were huge NASCAR and OU Football fans. In later years she became the most boisterous and avid Thunder fan. She recently admitted she may have been addicted to sports, as she also followed all of the up-and-coming OU players who went on to the NFL like Baker Mayfield, Jalen Hurts, and Kyler Murry. She loved sports and her TV was set to all of the games. The teams will surely miss her rooting them on to victory. Her daily routine was committed to reading the bible and several devotionals, reading the newspaper and doing the crossword puzzle, playing solitaire on the computer and keeping up with friends and family on FaceBook. She was forever young…never quit and never gave up.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Floyd Flood, her husband Jack, her sister Ann Flood Radford, her son-in-law Edward Booze III, and grandchildren, Tony Reynolds, Bud Summers, Edward Booze,IV, Brandon Reynolds, and Denver Pierce.

She leaves behind her daughter, Cheryl Fancher Booze, Edmond, OK and her son Chuck Fancher and wife Elaine, Wynnewood, OK. Her grandchildren, Pamela Booze Summers,OKC, OK; Schelli Booze Boyd,Edmond, OK; Charles Booze, St Charles, MO; Kimberly Fancher Aber and Ryan, Moore, OK; Joseph Booze,Hercules, CA; and Kassi Fancher Reddell and Jon, Moore, OK. Great grandchildren, Rebecca Morse and Ryan,Edmond, OK; Travis Summers, Concord, CA; Jonathan Reynolds, San Antonio, TX; Crischelle Ray, OKC, OK; Erica Ray, Daisy, OK; Joey Boyd, Columbia, MO; Paris Pierce,Tahlequah, OK; Joshua Womack, Jacob Booze and Iris Amelia Booze, St Charles, MO; Natalie Booze, Hercules, CA; Sidney Aber and Keoni Reddell, Moore, OK. And great-great grandchildren Riley and Layla Morse, Caiden, Bentley, and Brooklyn Reynolds, Maddox, Kyson, and Ty Ray, Madison, Christopher, Brandon and Timberlee Ray, Jacobi Boyd, Aspen and Capri Pierce. And of course a multitude of friends, especially those at Lutheran Church of our Savior, Bethany,Ok where she has been a member since 1962.

She sang in the choir and assisted in all activities throughout the years.

She will be sorely missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her.

She was kind and loving to all.
