Mark Ernest Fairweather, longtime Hominy resident, departed his earthly life on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 67 years of age. Mark was born June 17, 1955, at Perry, OK to Ernest D. and Louise (Drummond) Moore Fairweather. During his early years the family lived in Perry, later moving to Chickasha before coming to Hominy when Mark was in the 5th grade. He graduated Hominy High School before attending Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Ag-Econ. While at OSU, Mark was a member of Sigma Chi. On December 28, 1976, Mark and Carolyn Louise Wagner were united in marriage. Mark "lived to work" and being a farmer/rancher was his life. He was also at one time a member of the Co-op at Ralston.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his Life-Partner of 32 years Janet Roberson; sisters - Sally Barrington and husband Mack of Corvallis, OR, Susie Martens and husband Erland of Fairview, OK; brother Charles "Cha" Fairweather and wife Chrissie of Hominy; three nieces - Jennifer Barrington, Caroline Fairweather, Maggie Martens Neufeld and husband Caleb; four nephews Chad Barrington, Chase Fairweather and wife Kyrie, their son JFrazier Fairweather; Corbin Fairweather, Mark Martens and wife Kamron and son Merrit and daughters Karsie & Mayven Martens; and many other relatives and friends including his extended family from his partner Janet - Jamie Whitehorn and husband Tony, their children Whitney Whitehorn Ross and husband Matt, and their expected child due in January Jackson Ross; Anthony J. Whitehorn, Jacque Roberson, Jill Phippen and husband Matt and daughter Addison Hendren. Janet's family totally embraced him in his role. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Bryce Martens.
A celebration of life service for Mark will be at 11:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2022, in the sanctuary of the First Christian Church Hominy with Randy Dildine and Carl Brown officiating. Services and cremation are under the care of the Powell Funeral Home, Hominy. www.powellfuneralservice.com
