Cleo Springs-A celebration of life potluck dinner will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Cleo Springs Camp House. Bring your favorite dish and share your memories of Rick. At his request Rick's body was donated to OU for medical research. There will be a private family service at a later date.
Rick was born on January 18, 1951 in Woodward to Garnett Failes and Georgia Schweizer Failes and passed from this life on April 26, 2017 at his home in Cleo Springs. The family moved to Colorado after Rick was born, and then they returned to the Cleo Springs area when Rick was four. He attended Cleo Springs Public Schools and has continued to live in this area. In 1968 Rick married Wanda Foster and to this union four children were born: Gregory, Matthew, Shelli and Jeffrey. His love of the outdoors led to his business of installing sprinkler systems, landscaping and lawn care. Rick's hobbies included fishing, reading and working crossword puzzles. His three dogs and one cat kept him company.
Those who preceded him in death include his parents; one son, Jeffrey; one grandson, Trenton and one brother, Monte.
Survivors include his companion of many years, Joyce Dyer; three children, Gregory Failes, Matthew Failes and Sheli Lange; four grandchildren, Wyatt, Heidi, Elissa and Jeffrey; one brother, Bill Loss; sisters, Linda Foster, Janet Loll and Carla Beckwith; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Cleo Springs Fire Department through the funeral home.
