Constance Mildred Maxey Facker, a devoted mother, brilliant student, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025.
Born to Cecil Leroy Maxey and Edna Mildred (Gilstrap) Maxey in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, on April 1, 1927, Constance's early life, starting on the eve of the Great Depression, was marked by the resilience and determination she maintained throughout her 98 years.
A truly brilliant student, Constance graduated at the age of 17 from Midwest City High School in 1944, as part of the school’s first graduating class of 11 students. She went on to study at Oklahoma City University and proudly graduated from Oklahoma A&M University. Constance began her career as a high school math teacher in Drumright, Oklahoma, where she met her future husband, Frederick, while he was home on leave from the Army Air Force.
She married Frederick Facker in 1949. A deeply supportive partner, Connie took additional classes with him at Oklahoma A&M University while he pursued his accounting degree and eventually obtained his CPA. They shared a remarkable 69 years of marriage.
The couple lived in Tulsa for 25 years, raising their children and enjoying the Tulsa Canoe and Camping Club. Constance was the "complete hands-on mother," always lovingly involved in her children's many activities, especially scouting. An awesome cook, she hosted countless holiday celebrations for her family.
In 1980, they moved to Bartlesville, where they became active and dedicated members of East Cross Methodist Church, supporting the choir and volunteering their time. Connie was an avid bridge enthusiast, playing actively in five different groups. They deeply cherished being close to family, including in-laws, nieces, and nephews, during this time.
Constance was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Cecil Maxey, and her loving husband, Frederick Facker.
She is survived by her three children: Son, Mike Facker and wife, Cindy, of Montgomery, Texas, Daughter, Debbie Zanovich and her husband, Terry Zanovich M.D., of Tulsa, Son, Daniel J. Facker Sr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Austin, Texas.
Her legacy continues through her 12 devoted grandchildren: Fred and Mary Facker, Nancy and Jeremy Pearce, Ben and Allison Facker, Andy and Cassie Zanovich, Emily and William Looker, Ginger and David N. Wilding, Daniel J. Facker Jr., Lukas R. Facker and Jackson Wu, Schuyler T. Facker, Carson E. Facker, Darin and Lindsey Zanovich, and Amy and Jeff Pruitt M.D., along with 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
