Windel Dewayne "Wayne" Ex, son of Windel Dewitt and Bobbie (Carter) Ex, was born on June 5, 1946 in Lamar, Colorado and passed from this life on Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years.
He graduated from Vidor High School in Vidor, Texas in 1964. Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1966 to 1970 during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He was stationed in the Philippines as a mechanic. After his service in the Navy, he worked at several different jobs, two of which, he enjoyed tremendously. His last job was as a security guard for Mrs. Smith's Foods in Stilwell. Wayne loved to spend time with his grandkids, would walk daily to visit his mother, who lived down the road. His favorite pastime was fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father: Windel Dewitt Ex, brother: James Ex an infant daughther: Crystal Marie.
Windel is survived by his daughter: April Smiph of Gore, OK, mother: Bobbie Ex of Stilwell, OK, brothers: Paul Ex and wife Sheila of Norman, OK, John Ex of Stilwell, sisters: Barbara Gatewood and husband Jerry of Stilwell, Vivian Radebaugh and husband Floyd of Marion, OH, Leann Murphy of Republic, MO, Violet Clenney and husband Don of Greenwood, AR, Fay Saba of Flugerville, TX, four grandchildren: Starla, Jasmine, Lillian and Declan. Numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Memorial Services were held at 2 pm on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Eugene Kester officiating.
