Bill A. Ewton

August 2, 1922 ~ 2000

Bill A. Ewton of Pottsboro, Texas, died Sunday in Dennison, Texas. He was 78.

He was born August 2, 1922, in Shawnee, the son of Jack and Esthen Louise Wood Ewton.

He graduated high school at Missouri Military Academy in 1941 and attended the University of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mr. Ewton was the president of Pioneer Insurance Agency from 1955 to 1988. He also managed Pioneer Abstract Company until it sold.

He married Martha Ann Moore June 1, 1948, in Shawnee.

He was a second lieutenant in the U. S. Army.

Mr. Ewton was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Shawnee Parking Authority and the Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Keith Ewton; one son, William Kent Ewton.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Martha Ann Ewton of the home; one daughter, Valynda A. Ewton, Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Valerra Currin; and brother and sister-in-law, James and Leta Moore.

A memorial service will be held later.

The family has designated the Bill Ewton Fund, MMA 204 Grand Ave., Mexico, Missouri 65265 for memorials.
