July 25, 1991 ~ June 3, 2026
Alyssa Katherine Ewert, age 34, of Bartlesville, OK, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 25, 1991, she was the cherished daughter of Warren and Joleen Ewert.
Alyssa attended Wilson Elementary, Kane Elementary, Central Middle School and Bartlesville High School assisted by her aide for 21 years, Rosamary Watters. She learned to use a Dynavox for communication and education. After high school she was a resident of the Jacquelyn House where she was cared for by many loving caregivers and fellow residents who became part of her family.
Though Alyssa faced significant medical challenges and many surgeries throughout her life, her spirit was defined by strength and perseverance. She was opinionated and made it known what she liked and didn’t like by vocalizing. Alyssa had a deep love for children’s music videos, especially Barney. She enjoyed therapeutic horseback riding for 25 years, family bike rides, and walks.
Alyssa gave us a new perspective and appreciation for life. She taught us to have a greater awareness and respect for those who have a variety of abilities. Even though she had cerebral palsy and spent most of her days in a wheelchair, she experienced love and goodness in life and in other people.
The family is most grateful to the many caregivers, therapists, teachers, physicians, and nurses who invested in her life. We were blessed by Diane Miller for the care given to Alyssa while the family was on vacation and to Dr. Paul McQuillen for guidance through the physical hurdles and challenges that she encountered.
She will be forever missed by her loving parents, Warren and Joleen, and her sisters, Cherilyn Dossett of Bartlesville, OK, Kayla Clark and husband Taylor of Branson, MO, and Jenna Henthorne and husband Scott of Moore, OK. She enjoyed seeing her nieces and nephews, Harrison, Sophie, Owen, Bennett, Miles, Corinne, and Carter. She also had many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willard and Edna Entz, Marvin and Alma Ewert, and Eleanor Ewert, and nephew, Isaiah.
A celebration of Alyssa’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the East Cross Church in Bartlesville, OK.
