Letitia F. "Tish" (Wright) Evans

February 02, 1931 ~ May 21, 2018

Letitia was born February 02, 1931 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Icy Lula Jackson and Wilber Wright. She attended Booker T Washington School in the Riverview Addition neighborhood in Pawhuska. She was a model student and played the clarinet.

Letitia spent several decades in the nursing field in both the Old County Hospital on old Highway 99 and the current City Hospital of Pawhuska. While in this position Letitia assisted in the births of numerous new Pawhuskans. Although starting as a Nurse's Aide in the medical field, by experience and study she achieved Vocational Nurse status. She also spent 3 years at Marina del Rey Hospital in Marina del Rey, California in a nursing position. Then entered the field of Respiratory Therapy at Jane Phillips Hospital and eventually retired as Department Head of Respiratory at Pawhuska City Hospital. During her years in California during the late seventies, she earned numerous credits in pursuit of her college degree.

Letitia, not one to rest idly, spent several years intermittently working in multiple environments including domestic capacity at the Mullendore Cross Bell Ranch and in home health. Letitia was an avid reader and frequented the local library and many book stores. She loved nature, gardening, travel, westerns and action movies. She loved Pawhuska and always considered it home.

Letitia was giving, honest, sincere and was always motivated to help others. She was a God fearing woman, blending her faith with her works. She was Sunday School Superintendent at First Baptist Church for many years.

Letitia was preceded in death by her brother Wilber Wright, Jr., father Wilber Wright, Sr., mother Icy Lula Jackson Harrison, step father Benjamin Harrison and sons Richard Fowler and Raymond Gibson.

Letitia is survived by Brother Lewis B. Harrison of California, Daughters Edith (Raymond) Bonner and Donna Davis of California, Jacquelyn (Ron) Colliver of Bartlesville, and Marian Sutton of Tulsa, Sons Joel (Tina) Sutton of Pawhuska, Jonathan (Laura) Sutton of Bartlesville and Bennie Gibson of El Paso, Texas.

Letitia raised nine children and was also blessed with 21 grandchildren, 35 Great Grand Children and 13 Great-great-grandchildren. Numerous extended family members, hosts of friends and many colleagues. To God be the glory.

Services will be held June 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Pawhuska First Baptist Church at 302 E. 6th St., Pawhuska, Oklahoma 74056, under the arrangement of Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home.
