HENNESSEY - Colleen V. Evans, 88, was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, on August 30, 1930, to John and Deta Wickham and passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
She was raised in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and graduated from Kingfisher High school. She worked as a Nurse Aid for 25 years and worked as a Custodian at Okarche High School until she retired at age 80.
Colleen was a Beloved wife to Lester A. Evans. They were married for 70 years and together they had 4 children, John L. Evans of Omaha, Nebraska; Stephen L. Evans of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; Micheal W. Evans of Galveston, Texas; and Sherri Huntsberger of Hennessey, Oklahoma. She had 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was a Devout Christian.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and sister Velma Strack.
In Lieu of flowers the family has chosen Russell-Murray Hospice for donations to be made in her memory, with the funeral home serving as custodian.
There will be no formal services for Lester Albert Evans, 96. Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Lester was born at Chickasha on September 29, 1923 to Albert and Mary Capitola Barny Evans and died Friday August 21, 2020 at Hennessey Care Center.
Lester married Venita Wickham in Kingfisher May 29, 1949. The couple were married for seventy years until her passing in 2019.
He worked as a custodian an Okarche and Kingfisher Public Schools for many years.
Lester is survived by three sons, Johnny Evans and wife Peggy of Omaha, Nebraska, Stephen Evans and wife Linda of Kingfisher, Michael Evans and wife Candy of Galveston, Texas; one daughter Sherri Huntsberger and husband Steve of Hennessey; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Venita.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Hennessey Care Center or Russell Murray Hospice with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
